Thank you for hosting a Health Justice Sabbath event in your congregation!

Here, we’ve compiled some resources to help make your event a success. Check out the resources below, then let us know what else you need! Feel free to call us at 512.472.3903, or send an email to abovepolitics@texasimpact.org.

Health Justice Sabbath Resource Page – Make sure to check out the Health Justice Sabbath Resource Page for statements from various faith traditions, health policy information, prayers and liturgies and sermon starters. If you have a prayer, liturgy or sermon starter to share, please submit those to abovepolitics@texasimpact.org.

Health Policy Resources – Learn more about health policy details and coverage options from Cover Texas Now, including a presentation from our colleagues at the Center for Public Policy Priorities, What is the Coverage Gap?

Health Justice Sabbath Flyer – Download this editable flyer, add your event info, then print and post in your community to promote your event!

Interfaith “Support a Solution” Letter Sign-on – Download and print copies to collect signatures on this letter. One idea: set up a table after your congregation’s worship service to talk with community members about health justice and invite their signature on the interfaith statement.

Social Media Tips – Promote your event on your congregation’s Facebook page, and on your own! Here, find sample tweets, facebook posts, and ways to connect with other congregations who are hosting events to help amplify our call for health justice. Remember to use this hashtag: #HealthJusticeSabbath

Bulletin Inserts – On the day of your event or leading up to it, include a bulletin about health justice in your congregation’s program bulletin. Here, find an editable bulletin and language to use in creating your own.

Sample Media Advisory – Let local media know about your congregation’s event, using this editable media advisory. (Don’t forget to send us a copy! abovepolitics@texasimpact.org)

Amplify Your Story by Sharing with Texas Impact: During your event, please take pictures and collect stories, quotes, videos, and number of participants to share on social media and with Texas Impact. We would love to hear the impact your event made, so please email that information to abovepolitics@texasimpact.org. Don’t forget to use the #HealthJusticeSabbath hashtag, and you can tweet at us, too! @tximpact. We will also share videos, photos, and updates from events around the state on our Facebook page and our Above Politics Facebook Event.

Again, thank you for participating in the Health Justice Sabbath and please contact Texas Impact if there are other resources that would be helpful, or if we can do anything to assist you in preparing for your event.
